UD-12L, Unidirectional Tape Prepreg Machine:

This low cost machine will produce a twelve inch wide, unidirectional prepreg tape using release paper with a pre-cast resin film.  The machine has an adjustable inlet comb handling up to 120 ends of tow.  Redirect bars control the spreading and columnation of the fibers before they are brought in contact with the resin filmed release paper in a heated platen.  Heated compaction rolls, operating under controlled pressure and temperature, gently knead the fiber and resin to produce a uniform web.  A refrigerated chill platen freezes the resin prior to the web being slit to width and spooled on a product reel.  Many variations of this system are available with widths to 42 inches.

UDT12, Unidirectional Tape Prepreg Machine:

This is a production prepreg tape machine handling webs to 12 inches in width.  Process speed of 35 feet per minute using hot melt epoxy resin is possible.  The machine can be furnished with a variety of combinations of heating, cooling, release paper supply and removal, on-line or off-line film casting and other options the end user may feel useful.  The machine is available in widths to 42 inches.
